EU PROJECTS

CEDOZ from the very beginning of its existence participates in programmes, that can be co-financed from the funds of European Union, especially Leonardo da Vinci and European Social Fund. We are predominantly interested in projects that contribute to exchange of experience in the area of efficient management and competitiveness development. Our aim is to guarantee Polish managers presence in EU know-how transfer, and that is why we take part in programmes that open new chances to build a strict co-operation between training institutions across Europe.

Below you can find short descriptions of the projects, which CEDOZ was or still is involved in.

I. Polish-German Study: Modern Human Resources Management

-    Edition no. 5: February 2011 – June 2011 (Katowice)

II. ESO-CSA

(Leonardo da Vinci)

* 2004-2007

The pilot project ESO-CSA (European Setting of the Organization for Certification Specialist Areas) aimed on creating an European system for the certification of competences in small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s). A system has been developed for the identification, evaluation and the approval of specialised competences in SME’s, particularly those that have been gained through non formal studies and work experience. Such a standardised European certificate did not exist before and it could make a major contribution to a European comparable evaluation of technical competences.

This project intended to create a system for the certification of competences in SMEs. Based on the pilot project CEMES, this system permits the identification, assessment, and recognition of specialist competences which have particularly been acquired through non-formal learning and experience in the workplace. In a European-wide standardized procedure and with the help of a standardized framework, these competences can be confirmed. That is why suitable specialist areas are identified, competences are defined, and certification regulations are stipulated. The competences are defined by competence profiles which describe the skills that are necessary to solve a typical task in an SME. The specialist certificates are assessed on the basis of the ECTS in order to be able to compare them to professional qualifications.

ESO-CSA was conducted between 2004 and 2007 in a multi-national partnership. The network of partners consisted, aside form CEDOZ, of project’s leader: IBS - Institute for Vocational and Adults Training (Lauchhammer, Germany) and 12 other partners from Great Britain, Austria, France, Italy, Greece, Czech Republic, Germany. You can find more information on the project’s website: www.eso-csa.com.

III. B.L.I.N.D. C.A.

(Leonardo da Vinci)

* 2006-2009

Project "BLIND CA - Blended Learning for Innovative implementation in Networks for people with eye Defects as Call Centre Agents" was carried out by the consortium of 9 institutions and companies from 7 European countries. CEDOZ provided a role of the leader in the project.

The major aim of the project was the development of a learning pattern for educating blind and poorly sighted people in the profession of a call-center agent. The education of people with sight disorder would include classroom training as well as long distance learning based on Internet and multimedia training material.

In every country blind and poorly sighted people are a social group with very high unemployment rate (60-70%), which intensifies the feeling of social exclusion. And yet people with sight disorder deal unusually well with work in call centres due to their special features: empathy, stress resistance, etc. On the other hand, call-centres encounter difficulties with finding highly motivated, dedicated employees. Unstable working hours, constant stress and low salaries attract mainly students and people treating this job as temporary. This results in high staff rotation, which impedes branch development. There is constant demand on the call-centre side and high supply level on the side of the poor sighted, who could be trained and find attractive jobs in call-centres.

The B.L.I.N.D. C.A. Project aimed on joining demand with supply for mutual satisfaction. Within the project a didactic concept of the training was developed, as well as learning materials (Internet platform, training cds), trainers’ manual and educational materials, which can be easily used for vocational training of blind and poorly sighted people in other, dynamically developing branches of knowledge based economic sectors, for example telemarketing. It’s worth mentioning that, besides the professional level, the project’s outcome (training programme) will also fulfil social needs of people with sight disorder, such as social acceptance, professional and social integration and reintegration into society, and sense of self-esteem.

Project has been running since November 2006 until February 2009, it’s budget amounted to 330.000 EUR, European grant: 234.000 EUR (71%)

Project was developed by the following members of the consortium:

-    CEDOZ - Poland - leader of the project

-    C.O.S. - Austria

-    Hilfsgemeinschaft der Blinden und Sehschwachen Österreichs - Austria

IV. CEMES – PS

(Leonardo da Vinci)

* 2009-2011

The CEMES project is a continuation of two Leonardo da Vinci’s pilot projects: ESO-CSA and ESO-CRS. The aim of this project is to prepare and implement comprehensive competence recognition platform, that will be capable of identifying and certifying professional competences and qualifications in business and society, with the emphasis put on the results of vocational training, non-formal education and work experience.

Vocational certification assessors can develop a new business area based on the recognition of acquired competences. A cost efficient recognition process can be made available due to the internet-based solution, resulting in high level of efficiency in the administration. A standardized and recognized European wide competence certification makes it possible for educational institutions and educational service providers to offer educational opportunities which help to connect competence with vacancies.

The outcome of this project will be applicable in the following areas:

-    Competence certification and recognition

-    Competence profiling (strengths/weaknesses)

-    Analysis of educational requirements

-    Human Resource Development Support

-    Development of junior executives and executives

-    Selection during the employment process

The project will be carried out by the multinational team of companies, including – beside CEDOZ:
